GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW BG LINE BETWEEN NADIKUDI AND SRIKALAHASTHI STATION Location: Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh P1105

South Central Railway (Secunderabad)) had been entrusted to construct of new BG line between Nadikudi and Srikalahasthi stations in Dakshinakosta in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The project railway alignment starts from Nadikudi station in the district of Guntur, passes through the Prakasham district and finally the alignment ends at Srikalahasthi station in the district of Nellore.

Similar Projects

The project, covering a distance of 308 km between Nadikudi and Srikalahasti, would have developed backward areas in Nalgonda, Guntur, Prakasham and Nellore districts. It has resulted in an alternate route to States of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. This railway line would also have ensured safe travelling during rainy season. In this connection a detailed geotechnical investigation need to be conducted at the proposed bridge location.

The work of detailed soil investigation by conducting soil exploration, by drilling bore holes, collecting soil samples, SPT Testing and other laboratory soil testing at site and Submission of detail report, preparation of GAD, preparation of land acquisition plans etc. had been entrusted to BPC Consultant India Pvt. Ltd. The services comprised of final alignment fixation by advanced GPS and Total Stations, detailed Geo-technical Investigation for sub soil characteristics and strength, Material investigation for embankment filling, preparation of Land Acquisition report, detailed drawing and recommendation of Cross Drainage (CD) structures and preparation of DPR.
