It is socially desirable project as it would serve economically and industrially backward Ajmer, Tonk and Sawai Madhopur districts of Rajasthan. The line will give an alternative route between Chittaurgarh and Sawai Madhopur on Delhi-Ahmedabad route. There is also ample scope of diversion of traffic from roadways to railways in future. This line will considerably reduce the time taken for transportation of goods and will help in minimizing the congestion on the existing routes.
